The Challenge

The Migration Plan
SpaceTown IT developed a phased migration plan: Phase 1 (weeks 1-2) — Microsoft 365 tenant setup, security hardening, and Intune MDM enrollment of all 89 devices. Phase 2 (week 3) — email migration using staged migration from Exchange, running hybrid for one week with new email arriving in both systems. Phase 3 (week 4, weekend execution) — DNS cutover on Saturday night, SharePoint launch Monday morning with training materials. Phase 4 (week 5) — decommission Exchange and complete SharePoint adoption.
The Execution
The migration executed exactly to plan. DNS cutover on Saturday night completed in 23 minutes. Monday morning: all 89 users signed in to Microsoft 365 with full email history accessible. Post-Migration Results
